Cynthia Chiles is President and founder of convergence consulting LLC, and she is located in the Los Angeles, California office.
Cynthia has been helping multinationals develop and manage their global EHS compliance programs for more than 25 years. She is a BEAC certified auditor, a current member of the BEAC Standards Board, and a former Auditing Roundtable Board Director.
Cynthia developed the innovative business model on which the company is founded and named. She has 25 years of environmental, health, safety, and social responsibility (EHS), management consulting experience to multi-national clients. She has an expertise in the development and management of global EHS management programs, in particular compliance audit programs, management system implementation programs and performance enhancement programs. She has conducted hundreds of EHS audits in over 17 countries, and currently manages many large scale multi-country audit and consulting support projects for our clients in the pharmaceutical, electronics and retail sectors. Cynthia recently served a four year term on the Auditing Roundtable Board of Directors and currently sits on the Standards Board for the Board of Environmental Health and Safety Auditor Certification (BEAC). She holds a Bachelor of Science in both Political Science and Business Management, and is a BEAC certified environmental auditor.
Alan Gallacher is a Principal and Director in convergence consulting LLC, and located in the Edinburgh, Scotland office.
Alan directs company operations from the Edinburgh, Scotland office, and brings clients his 25 years of international consulting and management systems experience. Alan is a registered IEMA auditor and examiner, and former Regional Chair.
Prior to joining convergence Alan was Board Director of one of the UK's larger environmental consulting firms and had responsibility for a number of offices in Scotland and elsewhere in the UK. Alan has over 25 years experience in EHS consulting and has worked with numerous multinational corporations, including; Eli Lilly, Schering-Plough, Merck, Rhodia, Microsoft, Bombardier, Applied Materials, ITT, NCR, Motorola, Hughes Microelectronics, Shell, BP, Hess, and British Gas/ENI/Lukoil, IFC/World Bank, British Army & Navy, and has performed EHS audits and developed management systems for the oil, gas, engineering, electronics, chemical, pharmaceutical, food & beverage, defense, and automotive industrial sectors. As well as extensive experience in the UK, Alan has worked throughout Europe, Nigeria, Angola, Kazakhstan, Abu Dhabi, Brazil, the Balkans and the US. Alan has a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in chemistry from St Andrews University in Scotland and an MBA from Edinburgh Business School. Alan is an examiner with the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment (IEMA), a former IEMA Regional chairman and registered IEMA auditor. Prior to embarking on a career in EHS consulting, Alan was initially employed in the pharmaceutical industry and later managed a start-up recycling firm.
Christine Chui Lee is Product Director at convergence consulting LLC, located in the greater Washington, DC area. She oversees development of convergence Core tools for over 75 countries for the offices, service, and retail sectors.
Christine is an accomplished environmental health and safety (EHS) practitioner, having guided development of EHS programs and systems to improve long-term outcomes. Prior to joining convergence, she worked for 18 years for a U.S.-based management consulting firm serving federal government and national and multinational commercial clients. Her client focus was helping commercial entities and federal government land management agencies implement EHS processes and systems that emphasized continual improvement. Other responsibilities included providing strategy and direction for the firm’s sustainability practice as part of the leadership team.
Christine has also facilitated EHS policy development, participated in over 200 EHS audits and environmental management system (EMS) evaluations, provided over 100 EHS training sessions, and led quality assurance/quality control programs.
Earlier in her career, Christine worked for a nationally-renowned environmental non-profit where it was imperative to use quality data to develop practical, effective, and lasting solutions. She has taken that lesson and applied it throughout her career to improve EHS outcomes.
Christine holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Cornell University, a Master of Public Health from the Yale School of Public Health, and a Master of Environmental Management from the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies.
Oguz Mandaci is a Product Manager/Senior Project Manager for convergence consulting LLC, and he is located in Maryland, USA. His responsibilities include management of content in all Products in coordination with the clients and subcontractors, monitoring of work progress, conducting quality control checks on client services and deliverables, and providing technical project services such as environmental, health and safety auditing, management systems development/optimization, and related management consulting.
Oguz has 20 years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and 15 years of experience in Project Management. During his career, he has developed, implemented, and managed more than 50 EHS programs in accordance with US federal, state laws and regulations, ISO 14001, ISO 18001, and other standards as applicable. He has conducted more than 50 EHS compliance audits for federal and commercial entities. Majority of the sites audited include facilities at National Park Services (NPS), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Veterans Administration (VA), and commercial pharmaceutical and biotech companies. Oguz has provided EHS and operational trainings to more than 1,000 people, including federal and commercial employees. He oversaw numerous government and commercial contracts. Oguz has 15 years of experience in Practical Process Improvement (PPI) and has secured more than $1.2M of cost savings in operations through PPI over the years
Prior to joining convergence consulting LLC, Oguz worked at ThermoFisher Scientific for 16 years in various roles in management and operations. During his most recent role as a Project Director at ThermoFisher Scientific, he oversaw numerous government and commercial contract operations in accordance with applicable quality and EHS requirements, including but not limited to, GMP, ISBER, CDC, OSHA, DOT, and EPA.
Oguz has also worked as an EHS Consultant for PRIZIM, Inc. for four years where he provided on-site and remote support in EHS policy and program development, compliance auditing, training, and project management to federal and commercial entities.
Oguz holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering from Istanbul University in Turkey, and a Master of Environmental Management from University of Maryland University College.
Colleen Smalling is a Project Manager at convergence consulting LLC located in Tennessee, USA. Her key responsibilities include developing client proposals, organizing project staffing, evaluating project costs, and ensuring the quality of deliverables.
Prior to joining convergence consulting LLC, Colleen worked as an EHS Senior Researcher for a U.S.-based management consulting firm serving federal government. In this role, she gained extensive experience in environmental auditing and compliance. She conducted comprehensive environmental and safety audits for federal clients, evaluating facilities against a wide range of criteria including green procurement, hazardous waste management, stormwater control, and emergency preparedness. She developed Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Plans, Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans, and Integrated Solid Waste Alternatives Plans. Colleen also created Emergency Action Plans and Hazard Communication Plans and the associated training materials to meet regulatory requirements and delivered training sessions to employees.
Earlier in her career, Colleen gained a strong background in environmental compliance and management through experience in various industrial sectors, including chemical electroplating, automotive manufacturing, and furniture manufacturing. Colleen's responsibilities included operating and maintaining an industrial wastewater treatment system, ensuring compliance with pretreatment permits, and obtaining necessary certifications. She developed and implemented comprehensive EHS programs, and managed hazardous waste streams, including conducting training, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Furthermore, she actively participated in industry groups to foster positive relationships with regulatory agencies and promote environmental stewardship.
Colleen holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, a Master of Public Health, and a Graduate Certificate in Health Care Management from East Tennessee State University.
